Meet our Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is normally elected annually at our annual general members’ meeting. Directors serve, on staggered terms, for a two-year term from September 1st until August 31st of their second year.

Directors govern the affairs of TBCWE through fiscal oversight, strategic planning, community-oriented accountability, and community-focused representation.

Our Inaugural Year
The inaugural 2021-2022 Board of Directors was determined through an interview-election process. A call for applications was circulated to the broader Black community and then considered by the Elders Committee. The Elders Committee consists of those considered the pillars of our community for their longstanding service, advocacy, experience, wisdom, and guidance. After interviewing applicants, the Elders Committee proposed a slate of candidates to the general membership of TBCWE, which ratified the slate of our first Board of Directors in October 2021.
